my envelope project

Last month i got a phone call from the scrapbook store i used to work at wondering if i would be interested in being hired by one of their customers. This lady wanted some CD cases made from cardstock and sewn on the sewing machine for a wedding favor at her reception. i had a few of my scrapbook pages on display at the store and a couple of them i had sewn on the paper. This lady saw my pages and liked the sewing and did not have time to make them herself...so she hired me! i was thrilled to do scrapbooking themed projects again.

i made 150 CD cases! THe cases really were not that hard to make...just time consuming. 12X12 cardstock, cut in half...folded almost in half (just enough for al ittle fold-over) sew 2 straight edges...tie a "bunch" of knots with the thread...and there you have it. i didn't have to put the ribbon on, because i did'nt have the CD to put in the envelope first.

Completing all 150 envelopes only took a few days. i had a few late nights working hard and luckily i had a day off my normal job so that was. When i brought the completed enveoples to the soon-to-be bride...she was very happy and loved them! Exactly what she wanted she said! i was so very happy with them too!

so cute!

Great job, Ana...they truly looked great!

I can't imagine *sewing* on paper...but it's a clever idea and it makes for a very interesting look!
